JOB DESCRIPTION: The Opportunity This position is onsite at our Mumbai, India location within the Cardiac Rhythm Management Division. We are seeking a high-caliber Systems Engineer II to support Abbott’s Remote Monitoring products for treating and monitoring cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. This role ensures that implantable devices are effectively monitored via cloud services, the Merlin.net web application, and patient transmitters/mobile apps. Working under general supervision, the engineer supports testing activities and performs analysis to determine system requirements and constraints. The role involves resolving cross-functional issues and applying theoretical principles, evaluation, and analytical techniques typically acquired through a four-year academic program. The engineer demonstrates technical and organizational leadership, applies clinical and marketing insights, and exercises sound judgment in planning and coordinating systems engineering tasks. Staying current with technical advancements and applying best practices is essential. Main Responsibilities Execute system testing for web and mobile applications (Android and iOS). Understand and follow authored test procedures; perform manual and automated testing. Report issues, conduct re-tests, and perform functional, regression, exploratory, and ad-hoc testing. Contribute to overall product quality evaluation. Apply technical concepts and maintain a comprehensive understanding of product fundamentals and related disciplines. Operate within a quality system environment; failure to perform tasks adequately may result in regulatory noncompliance. Demonstrate accountability for assigned work. Ensure high-quality product delivery by adhering to regulatory and process requirements. Occasionally assist in maintaining the Remote Care Systems lab, including equipment and software updates. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with general engineering principles and laboratory practices. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Quick learner with strong domain understanding, data analysis skills, and effective communication. Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and leadership in troubleshooting and recommending quality improvements.
