SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Engineer III to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining a stable and secure Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment, ensuring that systems are optimized for performance, reliability, and security. You will lead a team of less-experienced system administrators and work closely with application teams to support middleware and other system applications, all while working in a telework arrangement. Additionally, you will leverage tools like Ansible, Puppet, and VMware ESXi to manage the infrastructure and deploy virtual environments. The ideal candidate will have a current RHCSA certification, strong troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of Linux systems, and can work independently while mentoring and guiding junior team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead a team of less-experienced system administrators in resolving system issues

Required Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of experience in Linux system administration, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Current RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) certification
  • Strong expertise in Ansible for automating system management
  • Experience with Red Hat Identity Management and PKI infrastructure management
  • Proficient in managing virtual environments with VMware ESXi
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skill

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of network protocols
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among all levels of an organization
  • Other relevant professional certification

  • Maintain and manage Red Hat Linux servers, ensuring system stability, security, and compliance
  • Perform regular patching, updates, and system upgrades for vulnerabilities and performance improvements
  • Use Ansible Tower to automate system administration tasks and manage configuration
  • Configure and maintain Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) and PKI infrastructure
  • Manage virtual environments using VMware ESXi, including deploying and managing virtual machines (VMs)
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide solutions for resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design, installation, and maintenance of virtual desktop infrastructures and backup solutions
  • Tune system performance for memory, processes, and network utilization
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Junior System Administrators, helping them develop their skills and knowledge
  • Monitor and manage IT assets and inventory
