EDUCATION:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or 10 years of equivalent work experience is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.

THE DEPARTMENT REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Five (5) or more years of Windows server administration, including experience with three (3) or more years administering Windows 2016 and newer;
  • Three (3) or more years of Microsoft Azure/Cloud experience;
  • Two (2) or more years of AWS experience;
  • Five (5) or more years of Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), Group Policy administration experience in an enterprise environment with 1,000 or more users;
  • Three (3) or more years of Linux server experience;
  • Experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts;
  • Experience working in a virtual server/Cloud environment; and
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third-party applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base;
  • Experience developing and managing schedules for multiple projects;
  • Experience working in the MS Azure Government and AWS clouds;
  • Experience with state government projects;
  • Experience managing and reporting projects in compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.;
  • Experience working with technical programming teams;
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems;
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment;
  • Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming, data analytics, etc.;

Responsibilities
  • Perform Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Active Directory management activities;
  • Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft server and Azure resources;
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain processes that optimize Amazon Web Services (AWS) services and resources;
  • Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure optimization;
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation;
  • Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes;
  • Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security as needed for OIT staff and users;
  • Assist Azure application owners/administrators and users with appropriate application access;
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows server issues with minimal impact on users;
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Linux server issues with minimal impact on users;
  • Write PowerShell scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform Active Directory and Azure management activities;
  • Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements;
  • Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Department’s infrastructure team;
  • Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems; and
  • Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department.
