Overview Nakupuna Prime is seeking a System Engineer SME to support the Army Human Resources Command. We are actively staffing contingent positions with a start date during the contract transition phase between December 12-26, 2025. The System Engineer will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for the design, implementation, security, and sustainment of the enterprise server infrastructure supporting HRC’s mission-critical applications and data services. This engineer will oversee a diverse ecosystem of Windows, Linux, virtualization, hyperconverged, web services, ESB, and enterprise logging platforms to ensure resilient, secure, and high-performing IT operations across on-premises and cloud environments. Responsibilities The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions that may be required for this position but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Core Server Engineering (Windows/Linux/Virtualization) Install, configure, secure, patch, and maintain enterprise Windows, Linux, VMware, Nutanix, and Citrix server environments supporting 600–700 systems. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, outages, and performance degradations to ensure uninterrupted system availability. Implement DISA STIGs, maintain RMF-required documentation, and ensure continuous cybersecurity compliance. Support system upgrades, migrations, backup operations, and recovery procedures across on-prem and cloud environments. Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) / MoveIT / RightFax Engineering Engineer, configure, and sustain ESB, MoveIT, and RightFax platforms supporting secure data transfer across Army enterprise systems. Troubleshoot integration failures, message routing issues, and cross-system connectivity problems. Maintain secure data workflows and documentation aligned with Army cybersecurity and interoperability requirements. ELK / SYSLOG Engineering Engineer, maintain, and optimize Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK) and SYSLOG logging platforms for enterprise monitoring. Develop ingestion pipelines, dashboards, alerts, and analytics supporting operational visibility and cyber monitoring. Apply DISA STIGs within required timelines and maintain documentation ensuring compliance. IIS / Web Services Engineering Configure, maintain, and secure IIS and related web services, including SSL certificates, bindings, and load-balanced configurations. Troubleshoot HTTP service issues, optimize performance, and support application hosting environments. Qualifications Skills/Qualifications: The candidate must be self-motivated, pay close attention to detail, and have good oral and written communication skills. Additional certifications may be required as prescribed by DoDD 8140 (e.g., Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CASP CE). Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. (Preferred) Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and/or advanced training in systems integration, middleware, enterprise architecture, or related fields. Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance. An interim is required before receiving a formal job offer. Work Location: Fort Knox, Kentucky. Telework may be authorized once approved by the Government. Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation: Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
