Description
SET 7 and 9 consists of the following systems of the vehicle: Door systems including structures, trim, and movable glass, Body Cab structure, fixed glass and exterior ornamentation. A SET 7/9 engineer will: Drive functional issue resolution between functional engineering teams. (Exterior Systems & Structures, IPSE, EE Hardware and Underbody Systems, etc.) to support program milestones Drive cross-functional issue resolution (program, finance, quality, attribute, manufacturing, STA, suppliers, etc.) to support program milestones Drive system design efficiency, finding solutions to reduce complexity, vehicle cost and/or vehicle weight Manage system cost status with D&R / finance teams by reviewing engineering analysis of design changes, ensuring efficient vehicle solution is being brought forward to program Report in a weekly basis program status and progress to leadership team Lead escalation of issues when needed Lead resolution of PD launch issues via AIMS, CRs, FCPA, Alerts, & other launch performance metrics for on time delivery of launch. Provide issue resolution updates to the Integration and Program teams Ensure alignment of engineering resources to budget for all phases of the program. Design and Release Engineering or Vehicle Engineering experience is preferred Established and active employee resource groups Bachelor's degree in engineering or related degree. Experience in the Cost Setting Process and Functional Led Cost/Appearance Delivery Process a benefit Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross functional teams (Program, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering)
Responsibilities
The engineer will drive functional and cross-functional issue resolution to support program milestones and manage system cost status. They will also lead the resolution of launch issues and ensure alignment of engineering resources to budget.
