Description

BACKGROUND

Property assessment has a long history in New Brunswick, with the proclamation of its first Assessment Act in 1785. Since then, property assessment has continued to have an important role in public and private sector planning for fair and equitable property taxation, analysis and informing individual New Brunswickers.
Service New Brunswick’s (SNB) Property Assessment Services Branch is responsible for annually assessing the value of all real property within the province for tax purposes, in compliance with the Assessment Act, Regulations, and other related legislation. The Government of New Brunswick’s Finance and Treasury Board is responsible for the billing and collecting of all real property taxes levied, including those levied by municipalities and local governments.

MANDATORY SKILLS

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in information management or related work experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical experience in writing detailed software solution designs and leading developers in the delivery of those designs (4 years)
  • Demonstrated experience in leveraging ETL (extract, transfer, load) methods and concepts to solve solution design needs (2 Years)
  • Demonstrated experience in leveraging integration middleware for application-to-application data exchange (e.g., BizTalk, WebSphere, Oracle Fusion Middleware) (2 Years )
  • Demonstrated programmer/developer background with a responsibility of writing and delivering code (4 Years)

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in data integration analysis (data discovery, application-to-application mapping, methods, standards). (6 years)
  • Demonstrated self-driven and results-focused problem-solving approach with critical thinking abilities in addressing and fixing complicated issues in complex large-scale projects. (4 years)
  • Demonstrated in applying knowledge of data integration best practices and data integration middleware tools. (4 years)
  • Demonstrated experience creating, documenting, and delivering data integration solution designs. (4 years)
