As part of our ongoing growth, we are actively recruiting a System Modelling Specialist to support the operations team.
The successful candidate will be involved in performance modelling and simulating of Metrol wireless telemetry systems used in downhole oil/gas wells and to provide system parameters to Operations department. The role involves working closely with the operations job planning teams to design and deliver downhole telemetry solutions to the customer.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • BSc or Beng (Hons) in relevant Science or Engineering discipline
  • Experience with multi-physics modelling, ideally using COMSOL. Knowledge of AC/DC COMSOL modules preferable.
  • Understanding of Electrical theory
  • MATLAB and Python experience
  • Expert with Excel
  • Ideally, understanding of well construction
  • Project orientated with experience of working to timelines and meeting deadlines

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for complex signal performance modelling using COMSOL for R&D and Operational planning.
  • Review and develop techniques in the modelling process to improve accuracy and ensure simulations reflect real world performance
  • Generate reports and present signal performance model results
  • Where possible, create standalone applications for specific models.
  • Ensure that all local and Metrol Safety procedures are adhered to at all times at all locations.
  • Take part in internal and external training, seminars and client meetings as required.
  • Carry out specific work-related tasks for Operations & Technical departments.
