The System Officer role contributes to the good functionality of the systems used by the Data Management team, ensuring item master data and media content’s availability, usability, consistency, and integrity as required by the European Shimano Organization. In this role, you identify system improvement needs, build business cases, and help translate requirements into functional solutions. You collaborate across teams to implement changes, while owning system integration locally, training, and support. You ensure usability, data integrity, and contribute to data quality through analysis and insights. With a proactive mindset, you challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement to support team success.

The Challenge

  • Gathers requirements for system improvements from stakeholders or, proactively, from own research and assessment, prioritizing and creating strong business cases for approval
  • Designs functional specification requirements based on business needs and liaises with relevant teams to support implementation
  • Ensures the usability and administration of the systems, as applicable
  • Takes ownership of the interfaces, training and user support for the responsible system
  • Ensures and safeguards the integrity of data in the systems through continuous and ad-hoc analysis (accuracy, correctness, completeness)
  • Supports data quality initiatives with data analysis & data interpretation based on the product information available in designated systems
  • Designs methods to identify product content data trends, patterns and insights that can contribute to optimal business decisions
  • Creates dashboards, charts and reports on product data sets, to clearly showcase findings to direct team and stakeholders and positively impact the decision-making process
  • Translates data insights into actionable recommendations for the team
  • Challenges the status quo of the current processes and work approaches and initiates improvements for systems in ownership
  • Positively contributes to the team’s success by showing a pro-active mindset

What are we looking for?

  • A person with similar experience for (1-3) years or MBO 3 level is required
  • You should have good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint, SQL, Python, BI Platforms, etc.
  • Working experience/affinity with product data is a plus
  • You can interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • You can demonstrate analytical thinking skills
  • You can combine data analysis and system-oriented tasks
  • You can translate complex data concepts to different types of audience
  • You are experienced in working and collaborating in diverse teams
  • You have a methodical and structured approach in your work
  • You are a pro-active worker
