Description JOB TITLE: System Programmer PRIMARY FUNCTION: Work closely with the DevOps team and other business units to build, test, and implement solutions to increase organizational efficiencies. Responsible for software development and support strategic priorities of the Credit Union. Responsible for business and process analysis, workflow and automation development, phased SDLC with proper code storage standards, and supporting the growth strategy by recommending improvements, contributing on project teams, and assisting/training business analysts. REQUIRED SKILLS: Must be PC-proficient, including keyboarding skills, in a Windows environment. Able to utilize intranet and email, departmental software, phone, Credit Union's network, presentation software and data processing systems within area of responsibility. Strong time management skills. Maintains a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong verbal, written, listening skills. Frequent use of judgment, reasoning, patience, and negotiation in solving staff/employee issues, and other conflict situations. EXPERIENCE: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience. Must have experience developing, testing, and deploying solutions in multiple environments, utilizing change control. Must have experience working in mixed platforms: JHA Symitar and ancillary toolset experience is highly preferred, but not required. Must have exposure to and at least a working understanding of Application Programming Interface (APIs) SOAP xslt or REST, Data Structures, Code Repository such as Git or Azure DevOps, Structured Query Language (SQL), HTML/JavaScript, (JS)/Cascading style sheets (CSS). EDUCATION: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of degree). Requirements Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Speaking on the telephone approximately 20% percent of workday. May need to shovel snow occasionally outside the office to clear sidewalks, etc. Continuous sitting, standing, talking, and listening for extended periods of time, use of hands in repetitive tasks such as typing and writing, speaking, and hearing for interaction with members and coworkers, clarity of vision at 20 inches or less for processing of member transactions and computer usage, and memory demands in recalling Credit Union policies, services, and state and federal regulations. Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds to move supplies or office equipment, bending, squatting, or kneeling to reach supplies on ground level, reaching above shoulder level to reach supplies overhead. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Employees work in an office environment with average noise levels impacted by computers, printers, scanners, phones, and other surrounding conversations. The credit union is located in Central Oregon and weather during the winter may impact travel. Seasonal fires may impact air quality.
