SUMMARY:

The System Security Trainer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating security education for Children’s Health. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive security procedures, managing and training security staff, and collaborating with various departments to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff. The System Security Trainer is also tasked with curriculum development, delivering training sessions, and assessing potential training vulnerabilities.

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 5 years Training experience in a field involving the management of safety and security services, conducting investigations, and coordination of special projects required and at least 5 years Healthcare security management, preferably in educational and training environments preferred EDUCATION

  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field Req
  • Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field preferred LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Texas Department of Public Safety – TEXAS Private Security Bureau Registration - Non-commissioned Security Officer training and certification within 6 months of employment 180 Days required
Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator – CHPA 1 Year required
Certified Protection Professional (CPP); Defensive Tactics Instructor; Certified Taser Instructor; IAHSS Workplace Violence Prevention Certification; Certified Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) preferred

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive security education programs to enhance awareness and ensure compliance with security protocols among staff, visitors, and contractors.
Coordinate and conduct training sessions, workshops, and drills to ensure all personnel are prepared for emergency situations.
Lead emergency preparedness initiatives by coordinating drills and training exercises for staff readiness in various crisis scenarios (e.g., natural disasters, active threats, medical emergencies).
Design and deliver targeted security awareness programs specifically for clinical and non-clinical staff engaged in educational and patient care settings.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Nursing, Facilities, Risk, HR) to ensure training programs align with institutional security regulations and standards.
