Job Description We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join GDIT as a Systems Administrator Senior. You will be responsible for monitoring, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions. You will be required to carry out traditional System Administrator duties as well being responsible for Azure IAM (identity access and management) and the overall system health of our development environments. You will collaborate with GDIT technical leadership, Government customers, and other key stakeholders to assess our existing and new systems infrastructure. How You’ll Make an Impact: Analyzes customer requirements and provides highly innovative technical expertise on cloud computing techniques, technologies, infrastructure, DevOps and related cloud architecture Recognized Subject Matter Expert in systems analysis Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned May serve as a team or task lead Work with project managers and developers to plan and implement Azure platform deployments Systems Administrator Senior Advisor Duties and Responsibilities Migrate resources from on-premises infrastructure to Azure Cloud platform Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep Templates to streamline resource deployment (provisioning new servers, configuring roles/features, or backing up system configurations) Create and maintain PowerShell/Bash scripts for automation and configuration management tasks Handle system configuration, patch management, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and security of all VMs and Azure services Administer and manage IAM and RBAC for cleared personnel and non-human users according to the least privileged principles Integrate systems with Azure EntraID or on-prem AD for centralized identity management and multi-factor authentication Monitor and optimize Azure platform using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights Ensure systems meet compliance requirements by applying DISA STIGs and/or hardening guidelines for Windows/Linux servers Maintain and monitor services and infrastructure hosted on Azure Platform, including Azure data factory, Azure SQL database, Azure functions, Azure storage accounts, and related services Manage and maintain storage, network, backups, and security services in the Azure Government cloud Address all vulnerabilities identified via system scanning Respond to alerts and conduct root cause analysis for any downtime or performance degradation Maintain data backups and recovery procedures for critical systems (ie: database and tool servers) Periodically test restore processes to ensure COOP and disaster recovery objectives can be met Document processes, procedures, and configurations Systems Administrator Senior Advisor Requirements and Qualifications Master’s degree in computer science or relevant field; or equivalent professional experience is preferred Extensive experience operating in an Azure Cloud platform environment Expert-level experience with Terraform/Ansible, ARM/Bicep Templates, and Bash/Powershell scripting Active Secret Clearance to start Required Technical Skills: Senior Level system administrator skills required DoD 8570.01M requirements for IAT Level II Other work-depending certifications may be required Experience 10 years of relevant experience May vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree Extensive knowledge of Azure Cloud services in cloud environments; bonus for experience with AKS Experience using MS Visio for updating diagrams Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Experience working in Federal or State government environments Ability to work independently and remotely Certification: Security+ Travel Required: Little to no travel anticipated (may be required upon customer request) Location: Remote with onsite support at customer location as needed US Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required GDIT Is Your Place: Full-flex work week to own your priorities at work and at home 401K with company match Comprehensive health and wellness packages Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications Cutting-edge technology you can learn from The likely salary range for this position is $154,700 - $209,300. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
