Position Overview Candidate will be responsible for configuring, implementing, and maintaining systems and networks within a virtualized system architecture in a next generation training platform for a future Department of Defense (DoD) training environment. Responsibilities The Systems Administrator must demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. The candidate should have working knowledge of Windows operating systems such as Windows 11 and Server 2019, along with the ability to navigate and modify settings within Linux systems and Cisco network environments. The candidate will assist in troubleshooting system, network, and application issues, including performing root cause analysis for failures related to patches, components, devices, or system configurations. Strong troubleshooting skills are required. The candidate must be able to coordinate productively and professionally with team members, developers, and other stakeholders supporting the program. Will be required to create and maintain technical documentation and diagrams. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be a self-starter with a positive, team-oriented mindset, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment while remaining flexible to customer requirements. Required Experience/Qualifications Minimum 2 years of relevant experience DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent) Ability to take technical direction from program leadership for assigned tasks and requirements Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment Working knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, and Linux operating systems Basic Cisco IOS Layer 2 configuration knowledge Basic Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP Familiarity with Active Directory fundamentals (user/group management, domain join) Experience working with ticketing systems (Jira, etc.) Experience using team collaboration and communication platforms (e.g., Slack, MatterMost) Familiarity with modifying PowerShell scripting Experience installing patches and upgrades for Windows and Linux systems Ability to apply cybersecurity requirements, including DISA STIG compliance, in coordination with cyber teams Ability to assist in troubleshooting operating systems, applications, and network equipment Familiarity with VMware vCenter and vSphere Capable of lifting and moving equipment Travel required to Port Orange facility when needed (mileage reimbursed) Ability to compile and install applications as required by the customer Preferred Experience/Qualifications Knowledge of Windows Server 2019 Domain Controllers Linux administration/support experience Familiarity with McAfee ePO Knowledge of Cisco Layer 3 networking concepts (routing, VLANs, basic troubleshooting) Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam) Experience supporting virtual machines in VMware environments Exposure to scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash) Understanding of cybersecurity principles in a DoD environment Knowledge of DoD modeling and simulation systems Special Requirements/Security Clearance Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.
