Moby is excited to welcome a talented System Administrator & Developer to join our innovative and growing team. Moby is on a mission to disrupt the telecommunications market in Canada by providing independent fibre optic Internet, TV, & Phone, to urban centers in Alberta. We design, deploy, and manage our own fibre optic infrastructure, making us a true alternative to incumbent telecom and cable providers.
The Systems Administrator & Developer will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions that enable efficient communication systems and optimizing network performance as well as configuring, troubleshooting, implementing and supporting secure computer environments with business continuity.
This includes building applications, APIs, and automation tools to support telecom operations, integrating third-party platforms like billing or CRM systems, and ensuring compliance with security and data privacy standards. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, rigorous testing of software solutions, and troubleshooting technical issues to maintain high system reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 -10 years’ experience working in systems admin/or developer role in a telecommunications or IT environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter and ability to take ownership of work.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
