Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Houston - Houston, TX 77018 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Job Shift: Day Job Category: Information Technology This position is responsible for the installation, performance, testing, integrity and security of the system hardware and software. The position’s accountabilities include, but are not limited to, maintain system by identifying system requirements and solving issues that arise; training on system and solutions; securing the information and system; updating the configuration to support the company’s strategic plan and business requirements; supporting end users; and addressing senior leadership’s concerns and requests; communicating resolutions; creating and maintaining reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate will be able to function effectively with limited oversight and moderate on-site training and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Install, implement, administer, support and maintain all applications Oversee the daily performance of the system to maintain and maximize efficiency Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve issues Observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing and disaster recovery Consult with users, management, vendors and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements Install server software; configure database servers Monitor and maintain system health and security Design backup processes for server and associated data Create accounts for all users and assign security levels Maintain and configure database in accordance to end user information needs and views Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in accordance to their privilege level Establish a disaster recovery protocol Provide end-to-end technical support and problem resolution Schedule and perform regular server maintenance Track and maintain software licenses Contributes to team effort; manages data in CRM; and provides accurate reporting Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner Communicate issues, concerns and questions to supervisor Immediate Job Responsibilities: Develop companywide processes for reporting and tracking software issues to include time to resolve issues, help desk ticket management, prioritization and recordkeeping Develop and document IT policies and procedures Evaluate current business processes to maximize software functionality Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards; evaluate data analysis models and procedures Develop data warehouse to connect systems together with tables to render immediate analytics Develop functional system integration Create user documentation, i.e. user manuals and guides EXPECTED RESULTS Develop, implement and maintain system, solutions, documentation, reporting, dashboards and training within the established deadlines Effectively maintain and ensure continuous security of information and system Timely and effective resolution of system and user issues Exemplary knowledge of the entire system, hardware, software, and information Excellent customer services to internal and external customers Ensure consistent and accurate communication Adherence to all policies and procedures Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field of study. Microsoft Certified Database Administrator or MySQL Database Administrator Certification preferred EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 10+ years of professional experience in maintaining and securing a system and administering and managing applications Advanced knowledge of database structure, theory, backup, recovery, security, integrity, SQL, solution customization and report writing Solid experience with programming language MySQL, MS SQL or API and strong knowledge using SSMS, SSRS and SSIS Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing, business intelligence and database maintenance Demonstrated knowledge of automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency and effectiveness and developing stored procedures, views, triggers and complex queries using T-SQL Advanced understanding of disaster recovery and database backup procedures Familiarity with reporting tools Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite required; knowledge of CRM or Great Plains a plus Possess problem-solving, organizational and team working skills Ability to work under pressure, handle changing priorities, manage time and achieve desired objectives while meeting deadlines Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the company Ability to adjust scheduled to meet business needs
