SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

We are searching for an in-office Systems Administrator to act as an escalation point for our support services team. To meet our business growth plans, we must continually elevate our service delivery to provide not only more professional and consistent customer experiences, but also to confidently tackle the ever-increasing complexities of business technology.
As a Systems Administrator, you will serve as an escalation resource for our Support Services team in its effort to deliver IT and cybersecurity expertise to our clients, meaning an expectation of being able to find answers to complex technical issues, proactively maintaining client IT environments, and staying up to date with business technology systems.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience in supporting and implementing a variety of business IT solutions, including complex networks (Layer2/3 networks, VPN, Firewalls, WiFi,) virtualized server environments (VMWare & HyperV,) cloud/SaaS services, etc.
· Specific experience in Supporting Microsoft Office365, Azure Cloud, and Azure AD products.
· An understanding of modern security concepts (assumed breach mentality, protection vs defense) and a drive to implement solutions in a risk-aware manner.
· A drive to coach, teach, and share knowledge/experience to help elevate the technical abilities of other team members.
· Competent communication skills (both written and spoken) along with desire to drive the customer service image of the support services department.
· Ability to thrive in a work role which can be chaotic at times, but which delivers constant enrichment and the ability to always learn new things.
· Knowledge of Managed Service Provider (MSP) industry specific tools is preferred (RMM, Ticketing/PSA systems, commercial AV/EDR/MDR solutions, multitenant SOC/SIEM platforms, etc.) Excellent documentation habits (Timekeeping, work-done notation, and technical documentation)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to commute or relocate to our office in San Marcos Tx, and able to commute to clients in Austin Tx.
· Must have reliable transportation. Some onsite project visits may be required.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
· Due to Hill Country Tech Guy’s licensing requirements, all employees must pass a State of Texas background check.

Responsibilities

· Serve as a Tier 2 escalation resource for outsourced IT client’s technical issues.
· Provide technical ownership of client’s IT environments, including finding root-cause solutions to long term issues.
· Develop and maintain technical processes and create/update internal and client technical documentation.
· Maintain detailed time tracking and notes on work completed.
· Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with Clients
