Description

Position Summary: The Systems Administrator assists the IT Manager – Systems & Networks and plays a vital role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of the resort’s IT infrastructure. This position is responsible for managing servers, networks, and hospitality systems, supporting daily operations, and enabling exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a service-oriented approach to maintain and enhance the technology environment across the resort.
Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with network equipment (e.g., routers, switches, access points). Experience with Cisco devices and Ruckus is a plus.
  • Familiarity with virtualization tools such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Understanding cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus.
  • Proficient in managing an Office 365 environment and its applications.
  • Knowledge of hospitality systems like Agilysys PMS, Opera PMS, Micros POS, or similar.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Based on-site at the resort with availability for evening, weekend, or holiday shifts as needed.
  • Collaborative, fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and adaptability.
  • Participation in a rotating on-call schedule is mandatory to provide after-hours support, typically including weekends or holidays.
Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

  • Manage and maintain servers, storage, network infrastructure, and virtualization platforms.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure the availability and reliability of IT systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software relevant to the resort environment.

Network Administration

  • Maintain wired and wireless networks, ensuring secure and high-speed connectivity throughout the resort.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with service providers for upgrades and issue resolution.

Hospitality Systems Support

  • Support and maintain hospitality-specific applications such as Property Management Systems (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, and booking/reservation platforms.
  • Assist in integrating technology with operational areas such as housekeeping, front desk, and guest services.

Security and Compliance

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive data.
  • Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including PCI DSS for payment systems.

User Support and Training

  • Provide technical support to staff, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity.
  • Train team members on IT systems and security best practices.
  • Offer 24/7 on-call support for critical issues.

Project Management

  • Collaborate with management to plan and execute IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, or new technology implementations.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.
