Description
Leidos is seeking a Mid-Level Forward Deployed Windows Administrator to join our Client Server Team within the Engineering Operations group in Chantilly, VA. This individual will support a dynamic mission-driven program and provide critical systems administration and deployment support to forward locations as required. This position demands hands-on expertise with Windows environments, hardware and software deployment, and exceptional customer service. CONUS travel will be required for remote site deployments.
This role involves responsibility for the installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of both physical and virtual systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities, ingenuity, and leadership in technical environments while collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field and with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 6 years of experience OR 12+ years of relatable work experience in lieu of degree
  • Must pass or have a current Customer Medical Screening.
  • Expert knowledge in Windows Server and Workstation administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with system deployment and configuration tools (e.g., Smart Deploy, PDQ)
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Nutanix, Citrix VDI)
  • Proficiency with Web Help Desk or similar ticketing systems
  • Familiarity with endpoint protection tools (e.g., ePO), DHCP, and system monitoring
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel CONUS for forward deployments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and drive objectives across technical areas
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems
Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 2 system administration support and resolve user tickets using Web Help Desk
  • Perform remote site deployments including onsite setup, system recap, imaging, and configuration
  • Install and configure various peripherals such as workstations, MFPs, Telephony devices, KVMs, monitors, and cabling accessories
  • Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Workstation environments
  • Utilize tools like Smart Deploy, PDQ Inventory/Deploy, Nutanix, ePO, and Citrix VDI
  • Configure and maintain DHCP scopes, manage system backups, and allocate storage resources
  • Maintain and optimize physical and virtual systems (e.g., VMWare, 10Zig, Dell Wyse, HP and Dell miniPCs)
  • Monitor systems for anomalies and tune performance as needed
  • Apply critical system patches, updates, and security configurations
  • Collaborate with project leaders, engineers, and external vendors to align deployments with mission objectives
