Description
About the Company: StarkSys delivers reliable, high-quality technology solutions designed to maximize client productivity and efficiency. Focused on innovation, seamless communication, and exceptional uptime, the company partners closely with clients from project planning through delivery to ensure every solution is user-friendly, secure, and tailored to real business needs. StarkSys emphasizes meticulous quality control, responsive customer support, and well-maintained systems and infrastructure, creating long-term client trust through dependable service and thoughtfully executed technology solutions.  Position Overview: The Systems Administrator ensures our core infrastructure stays stable and secure every day. While the Engineering team builds new solutions, you own the health and availability of our existing servers and systems. You are the person who makes sure the foundation of our technology stays patched, monitored, and functional. This is a role for a technician who values uptime and order. You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of our server environments and core services like DNS and Active Directory. Your success is measured by the reliability of these systems and how well you handle the small issues before they become major outages. We need someone who is methodical and disciplined. You will manage regular patching cycles, handle incident escalations, and keep our documentation accurate. This isn't about chasing the latest trend; it is about taking ownership of system stability and following through on the routine tasks that keep the business running.   What You’ll Do: * Monitor server health and system alerts daily to catch performance issues before they impact users. * Manage the full patching cycle for operating systems and security fixes to keep our environments protected. * Maintain core services, including directory services, DNS, DHCP, and authentication systems. * Configure and deploy servers according to established standards to keep our infrastructure uniform. * Resolve incidents related to server outages or service failures and perform root-cause analysis to prevent them from happening again. * Audit system access and privileged accounts to ensure security standards are strictly followed. * Automate repetitive tasks using scripts to reduce manual work and human error. * Coordinate with the Cloud and Network teams to ensure system-level configurations are handled correctly. * Draft and execute formal change requests, ensuring you have a solid rollback plan for every update. * Keep an accurate inventory of hardware, software, and configuration records so our documentation is always current. What we’re looking for: * Hands-on Technical Experience: You have a clear understanding of operating systems, server roles, and system services. You know how to maintain them in a professional environment. * Methodical Problem Solving: You can break down complex technical issues step by step without getting overwhelmed. * A Focus on Stability: You prioritize reliability over quick fixes and understand the importance of following change-management rules. * Detail-Oriented Habits: You are disciplined about tracking tickets and updating SOPs so the rest of the team isn't left in the dark. * Communication Skills: You can explain a technical incident or a system risk to both your peers and non-technical stakeholders clearly. * Ownership Mentality: You take personal responsibility for the systems you manage and proactively identify outdated configurations or risks. * Required Background: Proven experience in server administration, patch management, and core infrastructure services. Experience with scripting for automation is highly preferred. Why you’ll love working with us: * 401(k) with a 6% employer match * 9 paid holidays with additional accrued paid time off * Maternity and paternity leave * Dental and vision insurance * Health Savings Account (HSA) * Health Share Program * Minimum Essential Coverage * Two paid service days per year * Complimentary monthly supply of Balance of Nature supplements * In-office chiropractic care and massage therapy * Access to a gym and personal trainers in St. George, Utah Pay: $55,000-$60,000 annually plus commission potential Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Job Type: Full-Time/In-Office Work Location: St. George, Utah Thank you for your interest in working with StarkSys!
