Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Summary: RTL Networks is seeking a Secret cleared Systems Administrator to support the US Navy in San Diego, CA. Primary Responsibilities: Essential skills, knowledge and responsibilities of the Systems Administrator include, but are not limited to: Network Infrastructure: Computer networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies. Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) architecture and pathways. Bandwidth management principles and techniques. Network traic flow (TCP/IP and OSI model). Performance tuning tools and techniques. Remote access technologies. Virtual Private Network (VPN) security. Network protocols (TCP/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), directory services). Common network tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, nslookup). File system implementations (e.g., New Technology File Virtualization technologies and virtual machine management. Security Expertise: IT security principles and methods (e.g., firewalls, demilitarized zones (DMZs), encryption). Network security architecture concepts (topology, protocols, defense-indepth). Cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities. National and international cybersecurity laws, regulations, and policies. Organizational IT user security policies (e.g., account management, access. control). Data security standards (PII, PCI, PHI). System administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques. Software-based computer protection tools (e.g., firewalls, antivirus antispyware). Knowledge of transmission records (Bluetooth, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Infrared (IR) transmission, Wi-Fi, etc.) and jamming techniques. System Administration: Server and client operating systems. Systems administration concepts and best practices. Enterprise IT architecture. System/server diagnostic tools and fault identification. Operating system command line/prompt (e.g., ipconfig, netstat, dir, nbtstat). System maintenance procedures (cleaning, disk checks, reboots, backups, etc.). Cloud Computing: Cloud computing service models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS). Cloud computing deployment models (private, public, hybrid). Cloud security strategy and architecture. Migrating workloads between cloud service models. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Four (4) years of system management experience. Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at time of hire (i.e., Security+). Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time. Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location. NOTE: The applicant selected for this position must have and be able to maintain an Active Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.
