SYSTEM OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented System Operations Administrator with a strong background in system security, infrastructure management, and automation. At Sangoma, we are dedicated to Empowering Businesses with Essential Communications through our state-of-the-art Unified Communications, UCaaS, CCaaS, VOIP, and Hybrid solutions. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the connectivity and productivity of businesses across diverse sectors. This mid-level role is ideal for an individual who will join the system operations team, contributing to the organization’s security posture, operational efficiency, and compliance readiness. The preferred location would be in the Eastern or Central time zones.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4–6 years of experience in System Operations / Systems Administration
  • Proven experience with Windows Server environments and Microsoft infrastructure services
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) – Intermediate level
  • Experience managing or supporting XDR platforms (e.g., Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike)
  • Hands-on involvement in data center/server migrations, including physical, virtual, and cloud environments
  • Familiarity with KnowBe4, Microsoft Attack Simulator or similar security awareness platforms
  • Understanding of on-prem security, endpoint protection, and patch management
  • Solid experience with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Unitrends) and disaster recovery planning
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance as it relates to IT operations and controls
  • Strong scripting skills with PowerShell, Graph API, or Bash
  • Excellent documentation and troubleshooting skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support Windows-based infrastructure, including server deployment, hardening, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Administer and optimize Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for secure identity, access, and governance
  • Serve as a Microsoft 365 Admin Center expert, managing users, groups, roles, policies, and service configurations.
  • Manage Intune for device provisioning, compliance policies, app deployment, and endpoint security
  • Oversee and support SharePoint Online site administration, permissions, and configuration.
  • Provide support and governance for Power BI workspaces, access control, and publishing standards.
  • Deploy and manage XDR platforms (Microsoft Defender XDR, SentinelOne, etc.) for endpoint threat detection and response.Execute and support data center/server migration projects (P2V, on-prem to cloud, or cross-site)
  • Deploy and manage phishing simulations and user awareness training campaigns.
  • Manage and monitor backup and recovery systems to ensure integrity and disaster readiness
  • Maintain infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., PRTG, Sentinel, Nagios, or similar)
  • Support on-premises security, including antivirus, endpoint protection, firewall configurations, and secure access protocols
  • Automate repetitive system administration tasks using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, or equivalent scripting languages
  • Ensure infrastructure, account management, and change control processes are SOX-compliant.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support security audits, resolve findings, and improve system reliabilityMaintain clear documentation for processes, systems, and changes
