We are currently hiring a SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (WINDOWS) to manage and maintain IT infrastructure for a Government customer.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Systems Administrator (Windows) will be responsible for managing and maintaining Windows-based systems and networks in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) contract. This role requires professional experience in Windows system administration, including system backup and recovery, software and security management, and installation and configuration of hardware and COTS software. The candidate will support classified and unclassified environments, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and contributing to the design, implementation, and sustainment of IT infrastructure. The role also involves troubleshooting, performance tuning, and supporting digital transformation and IT service management initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Administration of Windows-based networks and software systems
  • System backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and COTS software
  • Security and library management in compliance with DoD STIGs and cybersecurity directives
  • Performance tuning, resource allocation, and troubleshooting across hardware/software/network layers
  • Experience with Active Directory, patch management, and configuration management systems
  • Familiarity with network protocols including TCP/IP
  • Proficiency with network security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus systems
  • Experience developing system specifications and conducting market research for procurement
  • Understanding of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and detection methods

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years of experience in Windows system administration of networks and software systems
  • Experience in system backup/recovery, basic software management, security and library management, installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems and COTS software, operating computer systems in different operating environments, sizing, performance, tuning, hardware/software /network trouble shooting and resource allocation
  • Experience developing system specifications and performing market research procurement tasks
  • Experience with different network protocols including TCP/IP
  • Experience with computing and networking vulnerabilities

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
