Description

Summary of Duties:

This person is responsible for maintenance, education and upkeep of the electronic charting system, IntelliSpace Perinatal including the BORN interface and database. In addition they will support other program electronic systems such as Vocera and HUGS. The main functions of the system administrator include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with other members of the health care team in those activities which facilitate the operation of the unit and in providing excellent patient/family-centred health care in relation to electronic systems;
  • Supporting the philosophy of family-centred maternity care and the Mission, Vision & Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
  • Ongoing Program projects that require support and guidance

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Current CNO Registration in good standing required;
  • Recent related obstetric RN experience in Tertiary care setting preferred;
  • High risk, charge and triage experience preferred;
  • Recent related maternal and newborn experience;
  • Must have experience with fetal monitoring and current fetal health surveillance course;
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated team player with the proven ability to set priorities;
  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice;
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with members of the interprofessional team;
  • Demonstrated positive approach to change;
  • Experience in adult education;
  • Experience of working with a variety of electronic systems including knowledge of configuration and build reports;
  • Ability to work with word, excel, access, visio
  • Experience with the ancillary hospital electronic systems and their interfaces with Women & Babies electronic systems;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to manage projects successfully to completion
