JOB SUMMARY:

This position oversees and safeguards the organization’s cybersecurity posture, including implementation and management of multi-factor authentication (MFA), disaster recovery planning, password security protocols, and data redundancy strategies. The role is responsible for managing and maintaining both physical and virtual systems and servers, as well as handling email administration and coordinating responses to social engineering threats. In addition, this position directs mobile device management, including the deployment, imaging, and allocation of staff and student devices, ensuring secure and efficient operations across the organization’s technology environment.

Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

This position plays a critical role in safeguarding, maintaining, and advancing the district’s technology infrastructure. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of systems, servers, and devices, while providing leadership in cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and process improvement initiatives. By combining technical expertise with strategic vision, this role supports operational continuity, optimizes resources, and drives innovation to meet the evolving needs of the district. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Researches, analyzes, and develops proposals regarding selection of hardware, operating system, software, and technical tools.
  • Aids in development and implementation of cybersecurity measures, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Provide vision and support for mobile device management.
  • Provide direction, training, and guidance for Tech I/II
  • Coordinate, schedule, and perform server maintenance and management activities.
  • Monitor server performance, storage and logs; and create and maintain documentation for servers.
  • Collaborate to create and develop Change Management and Configuration Management processes.
  • Assists in the improvement of departmental processes to identify improvement areas, defining and managing process improvement projects. Ensures department processes are documented, communicated, and consistently adhered to.
  • Future proofing systems and information with innovation, recommendations, and thorough documentation.
  • Perform regular system maintenance
  • Perform the function of eDiscovery for records requests and other investigative needs
  • Assist in development and maintenance of district technical standards for computing systems along with infrastructure design
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, emails, and alerts or other communications regarding server and systems operations and/problems at any time
  • Participates in RFP, procurement, and contracting processes for the selection and acquisition of technical products, goods and services, as necessary.
  • Provide file server support including configuration, authorization, and access, and information security
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to self-actualization by continually updating and acquiring skills and knowledge applicable to the role to allow continually growth both professionally and personally.
  • Supports projects and the ongoing application of technology, once implemented, through preparation of documentation. Leads the development of technical standards, policies, and procedures that support District technology functions.
  • Work with director and networking engineer to secure systems.
  • Maintain and renew digital certifications prior to expiration
  • Manage password changes at least twice each year
  • Windows, Apple, and Chrome management including Active Directory and imaging
  • System and servers - patching, repair, maintenance, backup/restore, and upgrades
  • Electronic mail delivery and phishing response
  • Server and storage creation, repair, maintenance, redundancy, virtualization, and security.
  • Participates in planning efforts to define the future technological and strategic direction for the District.
  • Assists with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed.
  • Configure and manage
  • Manage life cycle of hardware, software, and infrastructure
  • Performs other projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
