Description
Act as a corporate IT consultant for machine connectivity projects across manufacturing sites. Guide project approach, review designs, and coordinate execution with site teams. Support and coordinate delivery with local resources and approved vendors. Build and maintain secure connectivity components (e.g., edge gateways, device identity). Enable plant integrations in partnership with engineering and maintenance teams. Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and are operable by site teams. Collaborate with IoT Architect and architecture teams to drive adoption of reference architectures. Provide hands-on expertise with industrial IoT platforms (Ignition, ThingWorx, Kepware, MQTT). Set up connectors and secure data flows to corporate services; guide site teams on configuration. Ensure connectivity meets data strategy requirements for analytics and reporting. Apply basic data science and analytics to bridge OT signals with downstream analytics. Embed OT/IoT security controls and coordinate with Cybersecurity Engineering. Ensure compliance with IT governance and cybersecurity protocols. Coordinate production-safe deployments and support cutovers with onsite teams. Deliver enablement sessions so site teams can sustain local operations independently. Manage work using Agile and project management practices (Scrum/Kanban). Identify and propose improvements for connectivity reliability and data quality. Support incident triage and collaborate with site teams to restore service. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on technology experience, including significant time in manufacturing/industrial environments Demonstrated success enabling machine/PLC - programable logic controller connectivity and industrial data integration from a corporate IT layer in coordination with plant resources IoT/Industrial Platforms: Hands-on with Ignition, ThingWorx, and comparable platforms; Kepware/OPC UA, MQTT brokers (Sparkplug B), and edge gateway tooling. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future. PLC/OT: Familiar with controls/PLC basics (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens), tag structures, and industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, Profinet). Cloud & Integration: Practical administration of cloud services used by IoT/data workloads; secure data egress, event/stream routing, IAM/Secrets, monitoring/observability. Data & Analytics: Basic data modeling for time-series/telemetry, data quality checks, and integration patterns to MES/ERP/analytics platforms. Database: SQL fluency.
