Title: Systems Consultant (Student Services)
Job Type: Full-time, Twelve-month Civil Service Position
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000, dependent on experience.
Location: West Genesee Central School District, Camillus, NY
Description: The West Genesee Central School District is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Systems Consultant (Student Services). This is a vital role responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of the district’s student information systems and related platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a deep understanding of the unique needs of a school district environment. Applicant must meet minimum civil service qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in a systems administration or IT support role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of student information systems and other educational software platforms.
  • Experience with Google platform and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear technical instruction to non-technical users.
  • Experience with data management and report generation.
  • Candidates must be eligible for appointment in the Onondaga County Civil Service System for the title of Systems Consultant.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the district’s student information system (SIS) and other student-facing platforms.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff, including administrators, teachers, and school counselors, on the effective use of student services software.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Accountability and Instructional Support to ensure that technology solutions align with the department’s goals.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, resolve user problems, and implement system upgrades and patches.
  • Develop and generate reports from the student information system to support data-driven decision-making in areas such as student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
  • Ensure data integrity and security within all student services systems, adhering to privacy regulations such as FERPA.
  • Assist with the integration of new software and applications with existing systems.
  • Assist with State and Federal data report submissions.
