SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER 2 THE ROLE: We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. THE PERSON: As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive scalable and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to define products, develop solutions, assess root causes, and produce solution resolutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across product development and validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional initiatives Debugging issues found during the SOC (System on a Chip) programs bring-up, validation, and production phases Working with multiple teams and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time Develop/Maintain of test environment components to support the pre-silicon validation of firmware, BIOS, SW and directed tests Develop/Maintain of test environment components to support the pre-silicon validation of firmware, BIOS, SW and directed tests Responsible for running emulator workloads to test new features Build testbench components to support the next generation IP Maintain or improve current test cases to support SOC & IP level testing Maintain and improve current hardware emulation environment to speed up the runtime performance and improve the debug facility PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python). Exposure to FPGA and/or emulation platforms (Veloce, Palladium, ZEBU, HAPs, Protium) Knowledge of BIOS,UEFI, Windows Operating Systems Knowledge of x86 and/or ARM SoC Architecture Knowledge of Memory subsystem, high speed IO peripherals like PCIe, USB, NPU, SoC & IP level Power Management flow, Security protocols. Knowledge of one or more protocols; SPI, DDR, SATA, USB, AXI, PCI, PCIe, MIPI. Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc. Experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategies ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
