Systems Engineer Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA to design and maintain system architectures, program requirements, interface specifications, and system testing as an integrated part of our agile teams and contribute across the entire product lifecycle. Primary Responsibilities: Support and lead requirements management, development, analyses, decomposition, allocation, testing, validation, and verification, as well as systems architecture, model based systems engineering (MBSE), and CONOPS development. Partner with subject matter experts and technology experts in understanding technology development and integration into current state and future goals for increased functionality, performance, testability, verification, and validation. Support and lead the definition of functional architecture and modeling needs and coordinate efforts across teams to meet deliverables and program milestones. Interface with customers and program management and leadership for systems engineering and integration and test team. Participate in all aspects of systems engineering for current and future phases of program with design, qualification, and eventually production (womb to tomb). Follow and implement best practices throughout all facets of systems engineering, integration, and test, to understand intent and to ensure successful product development and production. Actively participate in mentoring program for systems engineers to instill cross functional skills in systems engineering, integration, and test, in junior engineers. This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Years of related experience: 3+ for level 3, 5+ for level 4, 10+ for level 5. Systems Engineering experience. Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% domestically. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Model based Engineering (MBSE) experience. Experience with Requirements Management systems such as DOORS. 3+ years of experience with requirements verification Experience generating content for and presenting at design reviews (e.g., PDR or CDR). Typical Education & Experience: Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
