We collectively contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace, valuing diversity in all its forms.  As a Systems Engineer who specialises in Defence test & evaluation, you are responsible for providing consultancy advice and technical solutions to clients, generally in a project setting and helping them solve the problems that really matter. As our client’s needs are ever evolving, you can expect variety and diversity in the support you provide.  You will support CASG and Defence programs focused on electronic warfare capability, contributing to the planning, delivery and sustainment of critical systems. Key Responsibilities From day one, you’ll plan, execute, and report on test activities across the system lifecycle, from requirements verification through integration, acceptance, and in-service evaluation. Your work will include developing test plans and procedures, coordinating trials, capturing and analysing data, and producing robust reports and assurance artefacts that stand up to scrutiny. You’ll also support certification pathways and compliance with relevant standards, ensuring systems meet performance, safety, and reliability expectations. Expect variety: engaging with engineers, stakeholders and end users, managing risks and defects, and applying proven methodologies to deliver results that matter.   Essential Requirements  * Engineering degree recognised by Engineers Australia and relevant industry experience.  * Proficiency in Defence systems engineering principles and test & evaluation methodologies. * Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. * Proven ability to apply a solutions-focused approach and continuous improvement mindset. * Demonstrated ability to assess and evaluate identified or emerging risks through detailed analysis and informed decision-making. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  * Demonstrated ability to problem solve complex issues and develop a path to desirable solutions. * You must be an Australian citizen and hold a minimum NV1 AGSVA security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV2 level clearance.    Desirable requirements: * Experience with electromagnetic warfare systems and subject matter will be highly regarded * Demonstrated RF knowledge is advantageous * Engineers Australia Chartered status or equivalent, or the ability to achieve Chartered status   Life at Nova – it all adds up!
