Your role
You will become part of our infrastructure team and work with us to operate and further develop a stable, secure, and future-proof platform. No one here has to do everything alone – we distribute responsibility, exchange ideas frequently, and contribute our individual strengths.
What to expect
Together with the team, you will operate and further develop our Kubernetes stack (Rancher, RKE, Ceph). Your focus – cluster operations, storage, observability – will depend on your interests.
You'll help us build CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and support development teams in making their build, test, and release processes more robust. You'll also act as a sparring partner for application containerization (Docker) and for architecture and operational questions – from the development to the production cluster.
Our infrastructure rests on two pillars: On-premises, we operate a data center rack with networking (switches, firewalls) and virtualization (Proxmox), while central services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3) also run in AWS. We continue to develop both environments together.
We handle monitoring and logging (Checkmk, Grafana/Loki, Datadog) as a team. You will contribute to its expansion and help make incident and problem management more proactive – including blameless postmortems.
With our databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL), you'll support operations across multiple environments: backup, replication, and performance tuning. In-depth knowledge in all three isn't required – specialization is welcome.
And yes: documentation, automation, and mentoring are part of it. Not as a mandatory program, but because we ourselves believe it's good when things are easily findable and knowledge stays within the team.
