Work schedule: Normal business hours Monday-Friday 40 hours/week (not including mandatory unpaid meal break after 6 hrs. of work).
Duration: 1 Years
Pay Rate: $70 - $80 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION / JUSTIFICATION:

The goal of this project is to create a single digital hub for families to learn about their child care options and find child care for their children aged 5 and below. The hub will also support child care providers by sharing information on how to begin and continue providing child care services to New Yorkers. The hub will include relevant content and features that could include a detailed screening process for parents, referrals section, information about available childcare services, and/or a unified map/provider services locator of child care providers.
The System Engineer, working with internal and external stakeholders, will help support the entire lifecycle of the application.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience using Oracle 19c, AWS RDS/MySQL and/or a database appliance.
  • Understand basic design principles behind a scalable application.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture and RESTful web services.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

? Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered

  • At least 8 years of experience in administering Windows and Linux Systems.
  • At least 8 years of experience in writing SQL.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud-based technologies, such as AWS, Azure Clouds
  • Ability to write scripts (Ant, Maven and Shell) for configuration management (CM), build and deployment activities, and routine day to day function
Responsibilities

? Perform the technical design, development, and component testing of repository changes.
? Setup and maintain cloud-based servers and services.
? Engage with the development teams to provide production management support input for the design of new application builds.
? Create optimal data pipeline architecture that is coherent and scalable, based on best practices of integrating data into a consolidated repository.
? Coordinate execution of break fixes in the production and nonproduction environments.
? Investigate and follow-up with various stakeholders (e.g., OTI, vendors) to resolve issues.
? Ensure that deliverables from the internal and vendor development teams meet requirements, including ensuring code matches server software stacks and specifications.
? Provide support during testing and deployment by monitoring servers and providing feedback.
? Create, update, and maintain system documentation.
