In support of our business units, Mission Engineering, Advisory and Technical Services, and Team Downer as the prime Major Service Provider (MSP) we deliver above the line consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, including groups (Defence Digital Group (DDG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), the services (Navy, Army and Air Force).

If successful in securing a role, your work may involve:

  • Leading systems engineering activities across various Defence platforms and domains.
  • Supporting the development, integration, and validation of complex Defence systems.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Developing technical documentation, including specifications, risk assessments, and engineering change proposals.

Our work is highly complex and confidential , applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary. In some cases, this may impose restrictions on individuals with dual nationality, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.

We’re seeking candidates with Defence Industry experience in the following areas:

  • Strong experience of systems engineering principles, including requirements definition, integration, and validation within Defence, government, or professional services.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications (such as Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Maritime Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working on Defence platforms (maritime, land, or aerospace systems).
  • Understanding of ASDEFCON processes and Defence Capability Lifecycle (CLC).
