SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with ERP systems in manufacturing (e.g., Epicor, JobBOSS).
  • Working knowledge of BOM/BOO structures and production workflows.
  • Familiarity with automation platforms (Power Automate, Excel VBA/macros, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail with file/document control and versioning systems.
  • Comfortable working across departments with technical and operational stakeholders.
  • Bonus: Experience with CAD software integration or document control systems.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The Systems Engineer – ERP & Automation is a key technical contributor responsible for maintaining and advancing the digital backbone of our manufacturing operations. This role manages ERP data integrity, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Bills of Operations (BOOs), supports engineering documentation and revision control, and leads automation and data integration initiatives using tools like Power Automate and AI. The position ensures seamless flow of material and process information across departments and systems, enabling smarter, more efficient manufacturing.

JOB DUTIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

ERP Systems Management:

  • Create, update, and validate ERP data including BOMs, BOOs, routings, and method sheets.
  • Ensure data integrity across ERP modules and coordinate cross-functional input from engineering and production.
  • Support implementation of system enhancements or new ERP modules.

Engineering & Documentation Support:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to manage part and assembly documentation, including CAD file linkage, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Maintain revision control protocols and ensure consistent file structure and access across teams.
  • Support change management related to part revisions and shop documentation.

Digital Automation & Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline data entry, reporting, and approval workflows.
  • Design and deploy automation solutions using Microsoft Power Automate, Excel scripting, or AI tools.
  • Assist in developing dashboards and reports to improve decision-making and reduce manual effort.
  • Continuously research and stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Materials Data & System Coordination:

  • Manage material-related data within ERP, including item masters, inventory attributes, and material substitutions.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and production teams to ensure material data aligns with real-world practices.
  • Interface with external Manufacturing Information Service Providers (MISPs) to support data integration and supplier communication tools.
