Responsibilities

This is not an IT-based position. It focuses on integrating electrical, mechanical, sensing, firmware and software subsystems to develop a mission-critical capability. Common tasking includes;
· Requirements development
o Attend multidisciplinary meetings to develop key performance requirements for electrical, mechanical, sensing and decision-making subsystems. Translate complex subsystem information into concise metrics supportable through testing and analysis methodologies.
· Technical Documentation:
o Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system design specifications, integration plans, and testing procedures. Generate system engineering documentation using tools (Enterprise Architect, Cameo Systems Modeler, Rational Software Architect) to ensure that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the system’s capabilities, connections, and limitations.
· System Design and Development:
o Design and develop integrated systems that meet military specifications and requirements. This includes creating detailed system architectures and ensuring all subsystems work together seamlessly.
· Integration and Testing:
o Specify key subsystem and full system tests to demonstrate system compliance with designs. Develop and oversee the integration of various subsystems, including hardware, electrical signals and software components. Design and direct testing to ensure the integrated system meets performance and functionality standards.
· Collaboration and Coordination:
o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, component suppliers, project managers and software developers to ensure timely and successful integration of subsystems.
· Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:
o Identify and resolve integration issues that arise during the development and testing phases. This involves analyzing system performance, diagnosing problems, and designing tests and subtests to validate prior to full scale integration.
· Compliance and Standards:
o Ensure that all systems and subsystems comply with relevant military standards and regulations. This includes staying up-to-date with the latest industry standards and best practices.
· Customer Interaction:
o Engage with military clients to understand their needs and requirements. Provide technical support and guidance during the deployment and operational phases of the system.
