We are seeking an experienced system engineer with project management experience to join R&D and infrastructure project teams across the Observatory. You will have the opportunity to share your talents in systems engineering with multiple engineering teams to bring sound project planning and execution to projects.
The location for this position will be located at the NRAO HQ in Charlottesville, VA.

Responsibilities
  • Successfully lead all systems engineering tasks
  • Oversee and participate in the implementation of systems engineering processes across the life cycle of multiple projects across the observatory
  • Develop requirements, verification and validation plans, system design, including the system architecture, interface control documents and other technical documents
  • Manage the development of all Systems Engineering plans and documentation needed for successful system design reviews
  • Prepare and execute system reviews and assisting in managing subsystem design reviews
  • Lead the systems engineering management processes, including configuration management, baselining, change management and document management processes
