Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior or Lead Systems Engineer embedded within the Mission Systems (MS) IPT on a DOD propriety program in Albuquerque, NM. The position will be working with specialty engineers (electrical, mechanical, optical and project) and systems engineers to operationalize complex electro-optical technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 9+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Experience with hardware and/or software requirements development, decomposition and documentation of complex systems or subsystems.
  • Experience in developing, integrating and testing components/subcomponents of complex systems or subsystems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Active top-secret clearance.
  • Experience with complex electro-optical and/or optomechanical systems.
  • Experience with requirements management tools, including experience with model based. system engineering (MBSE) development practices.
  • Experience with data analysis of system data.
  • Experience with configuration and data management tools.
  • Experience working with agile project management tools.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required

Responsibilities
  • Supports systems and multi-disciplined engineers in defining requirements, developing trade studies, performing analyses, and controlling associated data and information.
  • Develops, documents and maintains subsystem(s) requirements defined by contract deliverables requirements lists (CDRLs).
  • Develop work packages and technical performance specifications for complex subsystems.
  • Develops hardware and/or software designs and interface control documents (ICDs), showing traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develops, plans and executes tests to validate system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
