Systems Engineer (m/f/d) Human Spaceflight
The department “Human Spaceflight” is engaged in the realization of a wide range of microgravity experiments (human physiology, biology, physics, material science) for the International Space Station. The activity portfolio also includes the development of space station facilities like racks, freezers and centrifuges. Another focus of the activities lies in the mission support of research activities linked to payloads or facilities developed by OHB.

Your Tasks

• System Engineering for development projects from Phase A to E1on system and sub-system level from requirements management, design definition, coordination of manufacturing, assembly, integration and test for the implementation of housings, instruments, sensors, optics, mechanisms and fluidic systems
• Possibly project management activities (based on the respective qualifications and experience)
• Ensure information exchange and networking within project team, with functional departments and external entities
• Act as main focal point on technical topics for specific projects regarding AIT, Software, PA/QA, SCM
• Preparation and maintenance of documentation (e.g. design documents, interface control documents, test procedures, test reports)
• Proposal preparation as well as evaluation of subcontractor proposals
• Support of assembly, integration and testing in the OHB laboratories and at various testing facilities in Europe

Your Qualifications

• Degree in engineering
• At least two years of experiences in the aerospace sector as a system engineer, preferably in phase C/D/E1 hardware projects
• Familiarity with ESA/DLR/NASA ISS program documentation, interface management, ECSS, safety processes and support of scientific tests
• High level of motivation, strong teamwork skills, pro-active and multi-tasking approach
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English (Business English)
