For permanent employment OHB System AG in Oberpfaffenhofen is looking for a
Systems Engineer (m/f/d)
for small or medium space projects in the area of microgravity research facilities in space, mainly for the ISS or the Lunar Gateway, who is capable of supporting various organizational and engineering activities.

Your Tasks

  • Establish and maintain independently an effective technical project management
  • Point of contact for technical communication with customers and own company’s project and line management
  • Preparation of proposals, programmatic and technical documentation
  • Implementation of scientific requirements in research instruments/facilities on the ISS; this includes close cooperation with scientific partners and the space agencies
  • Conduction of various engineering tasks, including requirements analysis and verification, architecture and design activities, and AIT
  • Support the manufacturing, assembly, and test activities as well as campaigns, including also practical / hands-on work with the space flight hardware
  • Mission support activities, e.g. mission preparation, live operations support in the Ground Control Station, contribution to problem analysis and recovery, post processing of data

Your Qualifications

  • University degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics or an equivalent qualification
  • Ideally several years of project engineering experience, preferably in the space domain or another industry with comparable characteristics (e.g. process driven, medium to long-term project duration, institutional clients)
  • Good written and oral English as well as German language skills
  • You are more a generalist than a specialist, open for new challenges, and you prefer a balanced mixture of organizational, technical and theoretical tasks
  • You are motivated to work hands-on with hardware, for which laboratory or workshop experience would be a benefit
  • You are a highly motivated, goal oriented team player, who is willing to take the responsibility for your own tasks
  • You are able to represent your project interests towards the customer and in-house contacts
