Here’s to the world ahead.    Graebel Companies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and proactive  Manager, Systems Engineering who will be responsible for leading and actively contributing to the IT Infrastructure team’s operations across a hybrid environment (on-premises, Azure, and AWS). This role combines hands-on technical execution with team leadership, ensuring the stability, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure.  The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day systems engineering activities, supports strategic initiatives defined by the Director of IT Infrastructure, and serves as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure issues. We are committed to fair and transparent compensation. The salary range for this role is based on several factors including experience, skills, and qualifications and is $130,000 to $170,000 CAD.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead, mentor, and manage the Systems Engineering team, including performance management, workload prioritization, and professional development * Participate directly in hands-on engineering work, including troubleshooting, system configuration, and infrastructure deployment * Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex infrastructure, system, and cloud-related issues * Oversee and maintain hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises data center systems, and Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS cloud environments * Administer core infrastructure services, including compute, storage, and backup solutions (e.g., NetApp, Cisco UCS, Rubrik) * Maintain and support hybrid identity environments, including Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD), with responsibility for SSO and MFA enforcement * Configure and troubleshoot networking components, including DNS, DHCP, and solid working knowledge of firewalls, VLANs, routing, and cloud networking (VNETs, VPCs) * Partner with Information Security to implement and maintain security controls, including vulnerability management and endpoint protection (e.g., Tenable, Red Canary, CrowdStrike) * Ensure all systems are regularly patched and compliant using enterprise patch management tools (e.g., Azure Arc, Action1) * Enforce system security baselines and configuration standardization using Group Policy (GPO) * Execute and improve patching, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation processes * Implement and maintain infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes * Lead root cause analysis and ensure follow-through on corrective actions * Contribute to infrastructure automation efforts using tools such as Terraform * Support enterprise applications and underlying platforms (e.g., SQL Server, IIS, .NET) * Participate in technology evaluations, solution design, and implementation planning * Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, and operational procedures * Manage team on-call rotations and participate as needed to ensure 24/7 operational coverage
