Central to the success of this transformation is our Infrastructure team, who deliver modern cloud platform and physical infrastructure services to the business. We are recruiting a Network and Security Engineer who will join the Infrastructure team to bring further expertise in the NetSec space with particular focus on networking technologies. As a Network and Security Engineer, you will have a passion for, and technical understanding of, IT networks and security, can consider business needs while delivering solutions, and maintain a ‘future focused’ mindset throughout. You’ll be an accomplished technical expert capable of establishing and sustaining relationships with a diverse array of IT collaborators and working within a large, complex environment. This position can be based from either our Christchurch or Dunedin Hubs. Ōu Pūkenga | About You: You’ll have extensive previous experience in a similar role, coupled with an interest in developing yourself to keep up with new and relevant technologies. You’ll have a broad generalist understanding across a number of technologies, and a particularly deep understanding in Networking, Wireless and security platforms, being able to configure and support solutions for a complex environment. Ideally your experience focuses on: * Planning, deploying, monitoring and maintaining secure network infrastructures, including routers, WiFi, switches and firewalls. * Configuring resilient networks, subnets, across a dispersed platform. * Diagnosing and resolving complex LAN/WAN/WiFi network issues using troubleshooting methodologies and tools. * Network monitoring and performance optimization * Configuring and managing firewall policies & managing switch configuration to enforce network security policies * Working with major cloud service providers (e.g. Azure) and understanding their Network and Security offerings and capabilities. You’ll also have a good understanding of: * Hybrid cloud solutions that integrate on-premises infrastructure with public or private cloud environments * On-Premise networking standards and maintenance * Security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance requirements * Information and data security/privacy principles and practices.
