Overview Title: Systems Engineer Location: Santa Ana, CA - *HYBRID* Pay: $128k+/year Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm - on call rotation after hours Summary: This position is to design, implement, and optimize our hybrid infrastructure, leveraging a mix of Windows-based systems, Nutanix virtualization, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS. This role is ideal for a technical expert who thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges, driving automation, and influencing enterprise-scale architecture and design. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure Windows-based server environments across on-prem and hybrid cloud platforms. Engineer and optimize Nutanix AHV environments, including compute storage, and virtual networking. Perform the integration of cloud services (primarily Azure or AWS) into existing infrastructure, including identity, resource provisioning, and hybrid networking. Implement automation solutions using PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible to streamline operations and enforce infrastructure-as-code principles. Provide technical leadership on systems architecture, performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery design. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for troubleshooting high-impact system issues across multi-tier environments. Develop and maintain architectural documentation, operational procedures, and configuration standards. Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve infrastructure reliability and performance. Collaborate with security, networking, and application teams to align systems with organizational goals and compliance standards. Qualifications Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or advanced systems administration. Advanced knowledge of Windows Server platforms (2019/2022/2025), including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and PKI. Experience with AD migration, multi-forest a plus Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and/or Nutanix Prism/AHV in production environments. Experience working in hybrid or cloud-native environments, especially Azure or AWS. Expertise in automation and scripting using PowerShell, and familiarity with CI/CD or infrastructure-as-code tools. Strong understanding of security, compliance, and high-availability architecture best practices. Proven ability to design and implement enterprise systems with performance, scalability, and reliability in mind. Experience with modern backup solutions for both cloud and on prem Experience with automation tools for server pathing and remediation Preferred Qualifications Certifications such as: Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Azure Administrator Associate Experience with cloud networking (VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs, etc.). Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., SolarWinds, New Relic, Cribl). Exposure to container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. #LI-KZ1
