JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer
REPORTS TO: Systems Engineer
DIRECT REPORTS: None
JOB SUMMARY: The Systems Engineer is a full-time exempt position responsible for supporting the development, documentation, integration, and verification of complex systems. This role involves working closely with the Lead Systems Engineer, Software, Hardware, and Test teams to ensure that system-level requirements are clearly defined, implemented correctly, and validated thoroughly. The Systems Engineer will participate in technical planning, requirements development, and interface definition, and will support the overall system design lifecycle from concept through deployment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline (Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, etc.).
5+ years’ experience in systems engineering, software engineering OR integrating devices and software in a professional work environment (Graduate coursework may be counted towards experience level).
Working knowledge of basic networking communications and protocols (TCP, UTP, etc.).
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, etc.)
8+ years’ experience in systems engineering, software engineering OR integrating devices and software in a professional work environment (Graduate coursework may be counted towards experience level).
Familiarity with Blazor Web Applications, .NET framework, C#
Experience working in Agile or hybrid development environments

Responsibilities

Work with Program/Project Management to estimate and plan systems engineering activities.
Development of system architectures, designs, interfaces, and documentation.
Analyze and design hardware/software integration by interpreting interface control documents (ICDs) and collaborating with device manufacturers to understand device functionality.
Collaborate with software, hardware, and test teams to ensure design consistency, system integration, and correct test designs.
Participate in design reviews, requirement reviews, and technical meetings.
Support the verification and validation of system requirements through test planning and execution.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of system documentation (e.g., system specifications, interface documents, requirements traceability).
Work under the guidance of the Lead Systems Engineer and Program/Project Management to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system-level issues during design, development, integration and test.
