TEKsystems is currently seeking a Systems Engineer for a 1-year extendable contracted located on-site in Redmond, WA. Ideal candidate will have strong Linux Systems Engineering experience (5+ years) in an enterprise environment. Additionally, 3-5 years of experience working with Python and creating scripts from scratch. Position will be 5-days on-site in Redmond, WA. Description * Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity especially as it relates to rapid test iteration. * Develop software tooling for operations to keep things running and highly available. * Troubleshoot software and hardware problems on hardware equipment. * Drive adoption of best practices in code health testing and maintainability. * Design set up and maintain test fixtures to verify software on real hardware. Design develop implement test document and deliver large-scale multi-tiered distributed software applications tools systems and services using multi-threaded programming distributed programming in Java and C JDBC SQL Object Oriented design and design patterns Oracle and middleware messaging systems in a Linux environment. Assist in gathering and analyzing business and functional requirements and translate requirements into technical specifications for robust scalable supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture. Own delivery of entire piece of system or application and serve as technical lead on complex projects using best practice engineering standards. Produce comprehensive usable software documentation. Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and travel for onsite troubleshooting or project launch. Qualifications -MS in Computer Science Computer or Electrical Engineering Mathematics or a related field plus one Preferred skills development/programming/scripting language Python/Java/Bash/Perl developed/designed projects using code as infrastructure. strong knowledge of the AWS CDK and AWS services configuration/deployment/maintenance and management have worked on designing developing and deployed a service for an organization internally facing. Understanding of network topologies with both ipv4 and ipv6 Initial setup and deployment of a container management system kubernetes ECS...etc. Experience setting up and configuring docker containers deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experience systems development in an IT or data center environment experience Systems design software development operations automation and process improvement experience designing or architecting design patterns reliability and scaling of new and existing systems experience Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
