Position Summary: RTL Networks is seeking a DoD Secret cleared Systems Engineer to support a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile, fast-paced development environment to support the Mobility Air Forces Automated Flight Planning Services (MAFPS) program. The qualified candidate will support the development and implementation of complex software services that incorporate mission, platform, navigation, airspace, weather and other aeronautical data from authoritative sources to generate and visualize 4-D optimized flight plans that adhere to complex global airspace business rules. The qualified candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud architectures, operations, and application deployments. This role requires hands-on experience with Java, Web Services, and Linux operating systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). The ideal candidate will support infrastructure deployments across multiple environments to ensure system status remains operational, manage and maintain automated software installs, and perform program-specific security technical implementation guide (STIG) maintenance and resolution. Additionally, the Systems Engineer will collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with security requirements, respond to outages, prioritize security findings, and ensure effective documentation and communication. Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) applications, including system operations and administration, is essential, as is familiarity with either AWS VPC and TGW services or network administration. While shift work is not required for this position, on-call support may be required due to the 24/7/365 nature of customer operations. Primary Responsibilities: Essential responsibilities of the Systems Engineer include, but are not limited to: Experience with cloud computing environments and services such as AWS, Azure and CloudOne. Experience designing cloud architectures and leading their implementation at enterprise scales. Experience with migrating legacy systems to cloud-based services such as AWS EC2. Experience with Ansible, Terraform or other automated deployment and provisioning tools?with AWS GovCloud. Experience implementing security risk management, compliance, and cybersecurity frameworks on IT systems. Knowledge of network architecture and design. Qualifications: Must meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at time of hire (i.e., Security+). Preferred Skills & Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent operational experience. AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or DevOps Engineer. Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development experience. Experience with Agile management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.). Ability to develop improved methods to increase program efficiency. Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment. Strong oral and written communications skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications and Atlassian tools. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time. Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
