Description
SAIC has an immediate opening for a highly experienced Systems Engineer to support to an exciting and impactful customer mission. The successful candidate will exhibit proactiveness, leaning forward in a high-impact customer mission environment. This position requires strong experience in systems engineering and manufacturing. The candidate will work closely with the customer and other project teammates to support acquisition, integration, test, qualification, deployment, and operations of customer mission systems as they transition into production. Position is available in Tucson, AZ.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in reviews, meetings, & boards.
- Flow technical concerns and statuses to PMO.
- Monitor/oversee progress on corrective actions, problem closures, change board items, etc.
- Maintain situational awareness of daily IPT happenings.
- Stay abreast of obsolescence issues.
- Understand impact of diminishing sources, as necessary.
- Understand hardware pedigrees.
- Monitor change control process.
- Attend technical interchange meetings, manufacturing readiness reviews, etc. as appropriate.
- Participate in hardware verification efforts such as first article inspections, functional configuration audits, and physical configuration audits.
- Monitor lab and manufacturing areas, to include build schedules, build progress, and issues that would frustrate the schedule.
- Flow appropriate developer programmatic and technical information, recommendations, and analyses to the PMO.
- Benchmark known best practices against developer’s processes.
- Review and assess test artifacts.
- TTP/manufacturing readiness.
