Description

This position is classified as hybrid with the expectation to come in office for special events or meetings (approximately once a month or less).
UniGroup is expanding our ServiceNow ecosystem and looking for a Systems Engineer who’s more than just a coder — we’re seeking a people-first problem solver who can dig into business needs, architect smart solutions, and help us scale the platform to support our nationwide network of agents and internal teams.

This is a hands-on ServiceNow development role with a twist: you’ll also be an internal advisor, discovery partner, and workflow designer helping build smarter, more connected service experiences.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Develop and enhance ServiceNow platform features with a focus on backend workflows, automation, scripting, and integrations with third-party vendors
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to uncover needs, define scope, and translate into buildable solutions
  • Design and deploy workflow automations (onboarding/offboarding, ticket queues, agent-facing processes)
  • Own and guide ServiceNow upgrades, testing, and deployment strategies
  • Serve as a ServiceNow evangelist: training users, leading discovery sessions, and identifying opportunities to migrate or improve processes
  • Collaborate across platforms using Jira, Slack, and other dev tools
  • Help define and optimize business processes — especially as we scale agent services through ServiceNow
  • Stay up to date on trends in AI, virtual agents, and automation — and help shape our roadmap in these areas

✅ Must-Haves

  • 3+ years of ServiceNow development experience, including backend scripting and platform configuration
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and working knowledge of scripting in enterprise environments
  • Strong experience with REST APIs and third-party system integrations
  • Familiarity with Workflow Designer, Service Catalogs, and core ITSM modules
  • Comfortable leading discovery sessions, facilitating change, and communicating technical concepts to non-technical users
  • A “connector” personality — you’re energized by collaboration and have a talent for getting people engaged
  • Detail-oriented with a process improvement mindset
  • Bonus Points
  • Experience with ServiceNow AI and Virtual Agents (be ready to talk about this in the interview!)
  • Background working in agent-based environments or supporting distributed service models
  • Knowledge of ITIL or similar service management frameworks
  • Experience with ServiceNow upgrades, testing frameworks, or governance best practices
