- Master’s degree (or PhD) in physics, biophysics, optical engineering or similar
- Practical experience in optical design engineering
- Good knowledge in imaging and image processing
- Basic knowledge in Software programming (e.g. Python)
- Basic engineering skills (systems, electronics, mechanics) is an advantage
- Team-player, excellent communication skills, proactive mindset

In this versatile role, you will contribute to the development of laboratory equipment for detection and diagnostics in research and medical applications and act as a central interface within interdisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists.
- You will interpret customer needs and translate those into technical requirements, plan and conduct experiments, analyze data, and summarize significant conclusions based on the results.
- You will be responsible to identify novel technology and components to support life science applications and their automation.
- As a key member of the team, you will support the overall product development life cycle from concept phase to final release, ongoing product support and ensure compliance to formal regulations.
- You will define and execute feasibility studies (including technical research, evaluation of technological solutions, optical design, optical simulation, image processing) in early project phases
