Job Summary: The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that supports a rapidly growing, early-stage public company. This role ensures secure, reliable, and scalable network systems across corporate, cloud, and operational environments. The position will play a key role in building foundational infrastructure, supporting business growth, and maintaining high standards for performance and security. Key Responsibilities Oversee all network and server infrastructure across multiple sites, encompassing both IT and OT environments Monitor, maintain, and optimize network performance, availability, and security across all locations Manage and support physical and virtual server environments Manage and support Azure cloud environments Administer core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and file/print services Ensure system backups, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity procedures are in place and regularly tested Lead network and server projects focused on bringing production systems online and maintaining operational uptime Support and maintain Operational Technology (OT) systems Create and maintain thorough documentation including network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of education. 7+ years of experience in an IT Systems Engineer or similar infrastructure role Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure Deep knowledge of networking technologies (routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs) and network security principles Experience with Windows Server environments and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) Experience with Azure cloud environments and cloud networking Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices Proven ability to lead and deliver infrastructure projects on time Ability to support a multi-site environment, including occasional travel between locations Willingness to provide after-hours support for maintenance or critical incidents and participate in an on-call rotation Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment Familiarity with OT/industrial systems and IT/OT network segmentation Experience with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, NIST SP 800-53, CMMC) Experience supporting multi-site environments Relevant vendor certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, VMware) Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
