Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead Systems Engineering across the entire life-cycle. Integrate with and provide systems engineering coaching or training to engineers from other functions.
  • Facilitate the elicitation, maturation and validation of stakeholder requirements including customer, business, and technical to ensure robust problem and solution space understanding.
  • Establish and maintain an appropriate information structure for the project (Customer, Business, System, Sub-System, and Component) and develop / maintain associated management plans.
  • Represent Rolls-Royce as required on specific customer and partner working groups related to the project
  • Ensure project risks (technical, cost, supply chain and timescale) are identified, managed, and escalated in accordance with risk management plan
  • Develop product verification strategies and compliance statements
  • Deploy and evaluate new SE tools, such as MBSE, on agreed programmes
    The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. Dependant on individual circumstances, relocation may be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will:

  • Be qualified to degree level in a STEM subject and with experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls).
  • Be capable of systems level thinking and have evidence of their experience deploying Systems Engineering techniques to solve complex problems
  • Have evidence of their ability to communicate and collaborative effectively across different engineering disciplines
  • Preferably have a broad understanding of Gas Turbine functional operation and physical characteristics.
  • Preferably have experience using Systems Engineering tools such as IBM DOORS or Cameo Systems Modeller and knowledge of standards such as ARP4754A/ED-79A
