Systems & Infrastructure Engineer – Windows, Virtualisation & Harvester
Melbourne CBD + Hybrid
Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, provisioning and configuration of server and virtualised infrastructure within a complex enterprise technology environment.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on building and preparing infrastructure and environments to support application development, testing and deployment activities. You will be responsible for installing and configuring operating systems, provisioning virtual machines, configuring infrastructure services, managing Active Directory, deploying security patches and supporting the deployment of software into test and non-production environments.
A key component of the environment is Harvester HCI, so experience with Harvester is essential. Candidates with strong experience across comparable virtualisation and hyperconverged platforms, together with Kubernetes or KubeVirt-based environments, will also be considered.
You will work closely with infrastructure, security, architecture and software engineering teams to ensure environments are correctly configured, secure, reliable and ready to support project delivery.
This role would suit an experienced infrastructure engineer who is comfortable working across Windows Server, virtualisation, Active Directory, networking and enterprise infrastructure and who enjoys taking ownership of environments from initial provisioning through to operational readiness.

A bit about you
You are an experienced Systems & Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in provisioning, configuring and supporting enterprise server and virtualised environments.
You are comfortable working hands-on across Windows Server, virtual machines, Active Directory and infrastructure services, and have experience building and preparing environments to support application development, testing and production workloads.
You understand the importance of security, patching, system hardening, reliability and configuration management, and can work methodically when deploying or making changes within controlled enterprise environments.
Ideally, you will have experience with Harvester HCI and other similar virtualisation and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms. Experience with Kubernetes, KubeVirt, VMware, Hyper-V or other comparable technologies will also be highly regarded.
You are a practical problem solver who can troubleshoot infrastructure issues, work effectively with technical teams and take ownership of tasks through to completion. You are equally comfortable working independently or collaborating with architects, developers, security specialists and other infrastructure engineers.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or similar within enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience installing, configuring and administering Windows Server operating systems.
- Experience provisioning, configuring and managing virtual machines and virtualised infrastructure.
- Experience with Harvester HCI or comparable virtualisation and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms.
