In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all interface and systems integration activities across the rail programme. The role ensures effective alignment between signaling, telecoms, traction power, SCADA, control systems, rolling stock, and civil works, and that all technical, physical, and operational interfaces are managed in a controlled and coordinated manner throughout all project phases. This position plays a critical role in ensuring system compatibility, operational readiness, and seamless integration between all disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders. What You'll Be Doing: Develop, implement, and maintain the overall Interface and Integration Management Strategy for the rail programme. Lead coordination across signaling, telecoms, traction power, control systems, rolling stock, civil, trackwork, and stations to ensure consistent and compatible interface definition and system integration. Establish and manage the interface management framework, including interface registers, interface control documents (ICDs), and issue resolution processes. Coordinate and resolve technical and operational interface issues between designers, contractors, system suppliers, and third parties. Review and endorse system integration plans, ICDs, systems assurance documentation, and interface-related test procedures. Ensure compliance with applicable rail standards, safety requirements, operational criteria, and performance specifications. Coordinate system-wide interface activities related to testing & commissioning, dynamic testing, and end-to-end integration validation. Monitor progress of interface and integration deliverables against programme milestones and report risks or constraints to the wider leadership team. Facilitate interface and integration workshops, technical coordination meetings, hazard analyses, and configuration management reviews. Identify, assess, and mitigate interface and integration risks across engineering, construction, testing, and operational readiness activities. Prepare interface and integration dashboards, reports, and briefings for senior management and key stakeholders. What Required Skills You'll Bring: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Systems, Rail, Mechanical, or related discipline). A Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Rail Systems, or a related field is preferred. Minimum 10 years’ experience in rail systems engineering, integration, and interface management roles. Experience coordinating multiple rail systems, including signaling, telecoms, traction power, control systems, and rolling stock. Proven experience performing an Interface & Integration Manager role (or equivalent) on at least one major rail or transit project of similar size and complexity. Demonstrated track record in interface control, systems assurance, testing & commissioning coordination, and operational readiness. Strong expertise in rail interface management and systems integration within complex, multidisciplinary environments. In-depth understanding of ICD development, interface registers, configuration management, and systems assurance principles. Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to align diverse teams and stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, particularly in resolving complex interface and integration issues. High-quality reporting, documentation, and presentation skills. Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, technically complex project environments.
